LAST BITE ! (pics graphic)
Let me start with---First shot was a miss. 180 yds paced off and the shot was not that tough. I did a YANKER on the trigger and I knew it. I had a feeling he would pop up again and sat tight.
Fifteen minutes I see a patch of color---He's up. He knows I'm here, but not sure where. Whoops a problem. Lying prone for all that time and lookin' through the scope ; old guy is startin' to cramp up and the grizzly is not giving me much to shoot at.
In the decision making while hunting, when to shoot may be your toughest decision. In the grass, all he is giving me is a peek at his back. Shoot through the grass and hope. Never an option in my game plan. Hang on old guy, things will improve. Cramping and fatigue are starting to make the rules.
Decision time---Trust your rig and take the high back shot. I thought that I heard the hit, but no sign of the chuck being hit. I saw absolutely nothing.
Well let's pace it off and take a look-----Watchin' me tryin' to get up, off of the ground, was worth the price of an admission ticket. Sumthin' similar to a beached whale. YIKES ! ! I may be here forever trying to get up on my feet. I finally made it !!!
The pics---#1 The spot where I hit him--#2 Reposition near his hole for pictures----#3 That 32 grain V-MAX is like a scalpel--Sliced across the back---#4 His last bite. That .204 and V-MAX put his lights out soooo fast, he never let go of his meal. Amazing.
There is a sub theme hiding here----'NEVER GET OLD', but I luv it ! ! !

Re: LAST BITE ! (pics graphic)
I woke up this morning and my left hiny cheek was screaming "what did you do to me" ??????
I know it was not my age because, the right hiny cheek is the same age. Now around 4PM, my cheekness is starting a trek towards recovery
Maybe that chuck I got 'had the final' say during his LAST BITE.
Quoting the Chuck ; "I paid, now you will pay for a few days".

Ps: My bride of close to 50 years would not help, rubbing Ben Gay on my left hiny cheek---Caution: Don't apply that stuff to an un-intended part of your lower anatomy. TAKE THIS CAUTION VERY SERIOUSLY ! !Do the eyes go first ?????? MAYBE NOT !

As usual Fossil wins over the ground grizzily.
Good shooting and I hope the cramp works itself out.
I hear you about the getting old part, even though "only" 59,
there are days my aches and pains have aches and pains. LOLΜολὼν λαβέ
