Re: Ruger LC9S
I didn't get to shoot it, but I dry fired one a couple times.
The old one's trigger is so bad it's almost beyond words. The new one is very desireable in comparison not only to the old LC9, but to its competition too.
It's made my choice a lot harder, was going to buy a Shield, but the LC9s's trigger felt better to me.
I just don't like buying the first run of any new product. Hickok 45 has a great shooting review.

Haven't shot it yet but handled and dry fired one a fair amount. It has a good feel and a great trigger - better than the shield's, breaks sooner than the Kahr and has one more round (is a tiny bit bigger though). If the mag disconnect isn't a dealer breaker, I say go for it.

Re: Ruger LC9S
Handled both and IMO the trigger on the LC9s is better. However got a deal on a LC9 so I went with it. I grew up on double action revolvers and the trigger on the LC9 is like that. In addition to the revolver like trigger the LC9 also has a safety so it is about as safe as they come to carry. If the prices on the LC9 and LC9s were the same, I would have probably bought the LC9s but for a carry gun, I like the LC9. YMMV

Re: Ruger LC9S
Purchased one, cleaned it, lubed it, took it to range:
50 rds. Remington UMC 115g FMJ: no issues
8 rds. Federal Hydro Shok 124g HP: no issues
These were all with the flush fit on the mag.
Sweet trigger pull, much shorter/crisper than the LC9. Loving it so far.

Re: Ruger LC9S
Love the trigger and feel of the LC9S, if they ever offer it without a safety I'd pick one up.

Re: Ruger LC9S
That's about as likely as California dropping their restrictions.
Ruger likes to make one gun to sell in all states. Makes things simpler for them. That's why you get mag safeties, manual safeties and loaded chamber indicators among other things on Rugers.
On the plus side, the LC9's safety (in either version) takes a good amount of pressure to engage or disengage. If you don't like the safety, just don't use it. No reason to not buy the pistol. As said before, the mag safeties are easy to remove too, but I didn't do it on the LC9 I owned for a brief while. So long as reliability reports keep coming back good, an LC9S is in my future.

Re: Ruger LC9S
Are any online vendors selling the LC9S? I'd like to get an idea of the price.
Sanity, yours if you can keep it.....
