Re: Trail Boss?
I have never used but I will offer that it is a very bulky powder desgined for reduced lead bullet loads in larger capacity cases (44mag, 45 colt...etc). Does Hodgdon provide loading data for 45ACP?

Re: Trail Boss?
I bought a can (9oz) of Trail Boss to give it a try. Loading data is on Hodgdon's web site. So far I have only loaded up and shot 50 rounds. I used a 230 lrn bullet and 4.5 grains of trail boss. The rounds shot very soft and left no leading in the barrel.
I found that Trail Boss was an accurate load and it was also clean burning. Shooting 4.3 grains of Tight Groups leaves leading in the barrel of my 1911 and it has more recoil.
Trail Boss is circular powder with holes in the center, it also looks light grey. There is no way to double load a case. It also has a different smell then other powders that I shot.
While Trail Boss is more costly that Tight Group I think I might start using this for my 45 loads.

Re: Trail Boss?
It is nice to hear from other people using Trail Boss. I have been happy using the powder and I am hoping that the low pressure load from small charge will help my 45Acp brass to last forever. It have been harder and harder for me to find brass over the last year.

Re: Trail Boss?
There is a guy on Gunbroker (Metro Shooting Supplies) who is selling 5 lbs of .45 ACP brass for $13.00 + $10.00 shipping.
