Help me find a wheelgun
Shot my buds smith and wesson 686 w a 4 inch barrel the other day. Badass. My first time messin w a revolver and I fell In love. Contacted my local shop and they told me they can't get them in because s&w is behind on production and the best they could do was get me on a non guaranteed wait list. They also offered to do a transfer for me, I assume they meant like a gunbroker transaction of somesort or if I found it on the interwebs. Does anyone know of a site where I might find one or of a shop in the nepa area that has one in stock. Looking for a stainless 3 or 4 inch barrel, run of the mill no frills 686. Help a brother out!

Nothing wrong with a 686 but have you thought about a Ruger GP100 in a 4" barrel? Tough as nails and built like a tank. You can shoot loads in it that will loosen up a 686. Also more affordable and easier to find.

Call Advanced Arms in Pittston, they usually have revolvers in stock.

Re: Help me find a wheelgun
My advice is to be patient and stop into every shop you pass and check the classifieds here often. Used gun sales seem to have come to a near stop imo. Prices are great yet they are still not moving. I watched a used 686-3 with four inch barrel sit still at my local shop for months before I couldn't take it anymore and bought it for just over five hundred bucks. They are out there, like hunting and fishing, you need to be patient and even learn to enjoy the search.

A smith 586 or GP100 wouldn't be bad either...

If you ever come across a S&W Mode 627 Pro jump on it and don't let it get away!

Re: Help me find a wheelgun
I know it's a bit of a haul for you but Highland Arms Co. in Ligonier, Pa. has a huge selection of used S&W revolvers. While they are in Western Pa. they get to quite a few gun shows out east.
