A little info for CW9 owners and future owners
I own a Kahr CW9
I emailed Kahr customer service yesterday to see if I had a gunsmith cut a dovetail for night sights in the front of my slide, would that void the 5 year warranty.
Here was our short but interesting conversation through email.
I do not have the original I sent but all I did was ask about the warranty anyway.

MARK,
YOU CAN HAVE A GUNSMITH INSTALL NIGHT SIGHT BUT THIS WILL
VOID YOUR WARRANTY.
THANKS

Just out of curiosity... will the P9 slide fit the CW9?
Thanks,
Mark Condello

THAT IS NOT RECOMMENDED, YOU CANT PURCHASE JUST A SLIDE. WE ARE WORKING WITH A COMPANY TO MAKE NIGHT SIGHTS FOR THE CW SERIES JUST DONT KNOW WHEN THAT WILL BE.
THANKS
All I can say is "HOT DIGGITY DAMN!" I told her to try and grease the wheels a little for us CW9 owners.
I hope they come out some time before my warranty runs out... 4 years and 9 months from now!Last edited by Tony Fly; January 28th, 2009 at 06:15 PM. Reason: security

Cool, good info. Any idea why they typed their responses all in caps?
The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.
Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

A LOT of people work in machine shop jobs where most typing is done in all caps - reduces possibilities for confusion and is easier to read when paper gets smudged. Their email just ends up subject to the "EVERYTHING IN CAPS!" fetish .

My dad discovered that the cheapest (but slowest) way to get night sights on your Kahr is to return the damn thing to them for the 3rd freakin' time because the barrel keeps peening and the end of the trigger spring keeps poking through the frame and jabbing your hand under recoil.

Re: A little info for CW9 owners and future owners
I had a P40 that did the same thing. After the second trip back to the factory, the spring still pushed through the epoxy they patched the frame with AND the thing wouldn't feed even ball ammo 90% of the time.
People rave about their Kahrs, but I seem to keep getting lemons. The two I owned never worked right. Quite a bummer; I love the design and I'd carry one in a second if I could get one that worked for me.
I keep resisting the urge to go out and buy a K9 Elite. The material presented herein is for informational purposes only, is not guaranteed to be correct, complete, or up to date, does not constitute legal advice and does not establish an attorney-client relationship.
