Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

Well now, that puts the thread title in a new context.

Only constables in Amish areas... Lancaster Co. especially... and it's a wooden C-ring

Just to derail this thread even more... I saw a prison guard who was escorting a prisoner to the doctor the other day and this guard was huge...at least 350 and his holstered firearm was way out from his body.

I can't imagine if the con started to take off (he was cuffed though). The guard would have a hard time drawing his weapon and could not be able to chase the guy very far, if at all.

A Constable is the law enforcement arm of the minor judiciary (district court). We serve mostly summary warrants, but may serve felony warrants. We also transport inmates to court hearings, serve landlord/tennant complaints (evictions), and serve court papers, and other duties directed by the court.
WE ARE NOT POLICE OFFICERS. A Constable cannot represent him/herself as a Pa state constable while serving private security. We are act 49, not act 235. We belong to the executive branch of the Pa govt. not the judicial. It seems recently that some constables are FBI/DEA/SWAT/secret service/DHS trained and can fly and see through walls but… I say again to these folks WE ARE NOT POLICE OFFICERS!!! Our powers are very limited . and yes, we need some physical standards.
