Competition Ready
I would like to get into competition shooting. What would be some affordable out of the box options. Also I know slot of you will say some sort of 1911, but they always see a bit boring to me.

Re: Competition Ready
I think it depends whether you want to shoot hammer fired or striker fired guns.
IMO, the classic Sig 220 line(220, 225, 226, 227, 228, 229) is a great way to go for hammer fired guns and for striker fired, Glock, H&K VP9, Walther PPQ is probably a good place to start.

Glock 34 or 35 depends on what you are doing and what classes etc

Re: Competition Ready
I guess it would be IDPA and whatever would overlap with that.

Re: Competition Ready
The Czs are nice and have a huge following. The xdm puts you in esp I believe for idpa. You should figure out if you want to shoot a specific class or not. Sap is usually where everyone starts

Re: Competition Ready
I shoot a modified glock 19 now but I'd really like a 34 eventually for the longer sight radius
Go head, skin it. Skin that smoke wagon and see what happens.

Re: Competition Ready
Cheapest way with the best reliability is a Gen3 Glock 17 or Glock 34. Next would be a S&W M&P. Not a fan of the XD's and 1911's are fun but not the most reliable guns. You have to play with them more than other guns to get them to run.
