Default New to Area, Help with Outdoor Ranges!

Hello everyone, I just moved to Lansdale, from FL and had a few questions about the outdoor ranges within the area. I have done my research already and have found some of what I think are decent ranges within about ~30 miles. Problem is, no one picks up their phones and I had a few questions for them.

Anyways, if you guys have any suggestions as to what ranges would be a good pick for me that would be great. Currently just have an AR-15 with optics as well as a glock 19. Might be looking to participate in 3-gun or clays in the future. I understand most of these places require memberships and are private. How would I go about getting a sponsor if I needed anyone? I don't really know anyone. Not interested in indoor ranges at all.

Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I second Ridge and Valley as the membership fee is reasonable. There is also Branch Valley (www.branchvalleyfgfassoc.org) in Perkasie but I believe the waiting list to become a member is rather long.

If you are looking to get into 3 gun or IDPA or any other type of competitive shooting, Lower Providence is a waste of time for you.

They have a good clay program, but forget any type of fast shooting with a rifle, and with a pistol, give yourself a few years to run the gauntlet required to be able to shoot your pistol from a holster or to shoot fast.

Thanks for all the suggestions! For the people who suggested Ridge and Valley, would it be possible to grab coffee or something with any of you? It is my understanding that I need to get to know a current member to even be considered to be a member.

I am formerly from North Wales and my dad still lives there. I can talk to him and see what club he belongs to. I know they have outdoor ranges and open houses all the time. I am getting ready to buy my first gun and am looking to get a membership somewhere soon too.

How is it there? I belong to Guthsville up route 309N towards Schnecksville but live in Center Valley. Coopersburg would be a heck of a lot closer.

I go to Wicens which is a pretty decent outdoor range. Clay, handgun, rifle, and bow/crossbow areas. Staff up there all seem pretty nice and will work with you on setting up. Put a little staple gun in your range kit though, they never seem to have enough to go around when it's busy.

Wicens is the only one I've been to in the area. It's decent and it's changed for the better over the past few years. No membership required. It can get a little crowded on nice weather days.
