    Default Bought first AR today

After running hot and cold about getting an AR, I went ahead today and got one. Bought a M&P 15 with iron sights. I think I'll probably put a red dot on it but that's about all. Its just for fun plinking.

Anyone else have one? Like it or hate it?

Fortunately I have quite a bit of ammo left over from when I had my Saiga AK74.

Saigas did come in .223 no?

    It is a possible scenario?

    Hopefully we'll find out shortly.

Yes the Saiga was .223. The barrel on the M&P is stamped 5.56 nato and the book says I can use .223 in it. It does say if the barrel is stamped .223 not to use 5.56.

The Saiga was a good shooter but just wasn't for me. The ergonomics just weren't right. It had a sporter stock and I didn't feel like messing around with converting it.

Get a lot of ammo, they eat it up. Good choice on your 1st AR

The S&W rifles are great. A red dot and you'll be completely set*!

*Until you want another. And then do a build. And then a bulk order of pmags. And then a different caliber upper......

And a light and a laser and a sling and a bipod. Don't forget the target trigger. It never ends. Evil black rifle disease. I've got a mild case of it myself.

You are completely set now. A red dot, a laser, a bipod, et cetera........ all unnecessary. Spend the money on ammo and a good sling. Shoot the irons.
If the barrel is not free floating, have that done or do it yourself.
    Giselle triggers are nice.
