Amusing tactic for a "protest by mail'"
Saw an article about how to protest the actions of a college administrator that can be adapted for many situations. The idea is inject your two cents into an controversy and get noticed. You send a check for $.02 to the person or institution you want to influence and add a note about what you want. Ask for a receipt. The recipient gets your message and spends $.32 more on the receipt that the donation plus supplies and labor. The re-election funds for your least favorite legislators would be a fine target for your two cents worth of input.

Re: Amusing tactic for a "protest by mail'"
I don't do this but I put all my junk mail in a pile and when I get a real good pile, I take all the prepaid return envelopes and put a flyer form a different envelope or I mail the empty return envelope, or I put some ripped up flyers and mail them back.
That costs them return postage, then it costs them time to process the envelope, and it helps keep jobs for some of my friends and family that work for the Post Office.
however, I do like your idea and I may donate my $1,00 to Hildebeast ($0.01 cents at a time)

Well Don Q, next time tape one of your business return envelopes to a concrete block or used tire.
