    Default Action Pistol Training Class

    *Recieved this in an email from Pete. He asked me to post it here.

    Greetings,

    * * *The Matamoras Club has approved the use of the club facilities for the purpose of providing an opportunity for the many new shooters of action pistol to receive a formal training session on the sport.

    * *There is no fee in order to attend this class.

    * * *You may attend whether you have never attended a match or are a frequent participant.

    * * *Matamoras Rod and Gun Club.*

    * * *Saturday August 16, 2014

    * * *Starts at 9:00 AM, Ends 1:00 to 2:00 PM

    * * *Bring your own lunch and beverages.

    * * *Bring your equipment you would normally use in a match and at least 100 rounds.

    * * *Leave all your gear in the car upon arrival.

    * * *There will be a classroom session first and then range exercises afterwards.

    * * *The instructors presently scheduled are: Peter Brickner (2012 PA State IDPA revolver champion),( 2013 FL State USPSA Revolver Champion),( 2014 3rd in USPSA Revolver Nationals B class), Brent Dotey (Matamoras Squad Leader and Gunsmith), Scott Quinn (Matamoras Most Accurate competitor and accomplished Cowboy competitor) and Jerry Gregg (Master Class IDPA competitor and Renown Match Director in NEPA.)

    * * *The course outline is being developed but the current content is as follows:

    * * * * * Range Rules

    * * * * **Safety Rules

    * * * * * Range Commands

    * * * * **Drawing from the holster and reholstering*the gun.

    * * * * **Movement with the gun in a stage.

    * * * * * Dealing with malfunctions.*

    * * * * * Scoring

    * * * * * Equipment overview*

    * * * * * Division and classifications*

    * * * * **Different fundamentals and focuses of sights and trigger control.

    * * * * **Techniques in engaging targets

    * * * * **Practical exercise at the range

    You are requested to pre-register for this class so that appropriate handouts and range designs can be prepared in advance,

    Thanks to everyone who came out and participated today. Saw a lot of new faces. We hope everyone learned a little and can transfer that to next weeks match.
    I took pictures and got a few videos. Now I have to figure out what to do with them.
