moving and ltcf
Hey everyone. I'm going to be moving from Philadelphia to Chester county, Downingtown Exton area and have a ltcf from Philadelphia, I know I'm going to have to change my drivers license over but what do I do with my carry licence? Do I wait until it expires? and 're apply in Chester county? Or have to get my drivers license first and then ltcf?

Re: moving and ltcf
As I understand it, there is no legal need to change your address on your LTCF. Some people recommend informing the issuing county and asking them to update their records. Mainly because that county will send out the renewal notice and, if you're unlucky enough to have your LTCF revoked, they send that notice to whatever address they have on file.
Noting that your issuing county is Philadelphia, I might think twice before contacting them. Any time you raise up an LTCF question with the PPD, you risk having them cause you a really bad day. If it was me, I'd wait until my license needs to be renewed, which happens at the Chester County courthouse in West Chester. Much less hassle than dealing with the PPD (as I hear it anyway). The preceeding paragraph is my opinion and should not be taken for legal advice.
Oh, and welcome to the free state of Pennsylvania. Congratulations on your escape!

How long until your current one expires
?
ETA. If it is more than a few weeks I would phone the Phila Gun Permit Unit and ask them what happens if you move.Last edited by Remington788; August 4th, 2014 at 03:40 PM.

Re: moving and ltcf
I moved earlier this year. All I did was inform Chester County of the move. They on the other hand did not update their records so my renewal forum was sent to my old address.
My understanding is you move and let the issuing authority know you moved. Your LTCF address can be validated with your driver licenses. I would also keep a record of whom you talked to and when for your records.Regards Robert
