Default Not a Positive Encounter yesterday at Walmart.

Yesterday I was heading to Walmart to get a new computer desk for after I move. I walk in, grab my cart, start down the isle and hear "Oh no, son. What have we got here?" I start to pass a dad and his kids(?) when he stops me and asks "Are you active military?" (I was wearing an urban/winter camo button down shirt) It goes as follows

"Uh, what? Oh. No, I'm not. I got this here." *motioning to shirt* (I get stopped most of the time by people wanting to know where I get my shirts.)
"Are you one of them gun nuts?"
    "Excuse me?"
"Are you one of those gun advocate people? Do you carry a gun?"
    "At times."
    "Why?!"
"It's all these guns that cause problems."
"Did you know there are new guns than men, women, and children in this country?"

    "Yea."
"Here, you wanna look it up?" *gets his phone out and starts to hand it to me*
"No thanks. I know there are."
"Do you think Obama's gonna take your guns?"
    "Not himself."
"They thought that way with Clinton too!"
"You hear about all these murders, and you people say 'oh a good guy with a gun. Good guy with a gun.' It's all cause of these guns in the home. And they're not locked up like they should be!"

    "Uh huh."
"I was a member of the NRA in the 80s. It's all changed to propaganda and promoting sales. It's a company organization. It's no longer my granddad's NRA. If you have one gun, you should buy six guns."
"..." My phone starts to chime with a text, my cue to end this encounter and leave.
I started to walk away and he calls out "Don't watch Fox News either! They're *didn't hear*. You don't watch Fox News do you?!" Because I wanted to leave and not talk to him anymore "No."

I started writing this yesterday, and then got called away.
This is the camo pattern my shirt was
I personally have not seen active military wear urban camo out in public without it being with the rest of the uniform or without being with a group. Do most people that see any form of camo think military?

You met a whacko at Walmart. What a surprise

If he saw me he would have kept his trap shut. Punks like to pick on the young guys. Which makes no sense because you probably would have kicked his ass a little faster than me, but that's still the way it works.

The way it should have gone:

"Uh, what? Oh. No, I'm not. I got this here." *motioning to shirt* (I get stopped most of the time by people wanting to know where I get my shirts.)
"Are you one of them gun nuts?"
"are you one of those anti-freedom nuts? Have a nice day" and continue walking.

Don't humor them. It's not worth your time or effort.

Are you saying he gave you all that bullshit, just because of your shirt?

    WTF?

That guy sounded like he was looking for an arguement. You handled it well.

Side note: what's urban camo for? So you blend in when your in urban areas?

    To the OP:

Were you going to carry your computer desk home on your back when you walked home, or were you going to illegally have your gun in your car/truck as you drove home with it?

I noticed your age (18) in your profile. Even if you didn't update your age from when you joined (Sept. 2012), you'd still only be 20. Thus, you're too young to have an LTCF.

I think I'm gonna have to call BS on your story...unless I'm missing something.

EDIT: If Curmudgeon is right, I guess I have to ask why you posted in the concealed/open carry section. I assumed you were OC'ing.

    1) The forum software updates your age automatically.
    2) Where did the OP ever state he was carrying at all? This was all about his shirt the way I read it. Unless I'm missing something.

    Admit it. You're jealous.

I made the assumption the OP was carrying because of the section (Concealed & Open Carry) in which he posted this thread.

But, I guess I know what happens when one assumes.
