Taurus OSS
Anyone handled one? It's on the cover of my NRA mag. It was Taurus's entry into the US mils SOCOM sidearm competition. Seems nice and big (just the way I like 'um) and SA/DA/

Re: Taurus OSS
Tom, has it even been released? Taurus like many companies announce new models, but availability is another story. I know that it took forever for Taurus to roll out the PT1911, so I'd say it's safe to say that the OSS will take a while before it hits the stores.

Re: Taurus OSS
Sy, Dunno....that's why I'm asking. They are listed on the Taurus website though that doesn't really mean anything. I really like the looks, specs and the fact of an SA trigger on it though.

Re: Taurus OSS
I dont care to much for Taurus's guns mainly because they always knock off other guns
as for all the trials. I dont believe the taurus OSS would have beat out the HK .45, M&P 45 or the sig combat that was submitted.

Re: Taurus OSS
I also want one of these OSS models in 45. I called Taurus yesterday and the CS rep said they most likely will be available in the Fall of 07. Which probably means spring of 08.

Re: Taurus OSS
I handled one of the Taurus 24/7 guns at my local shop (the gun the OSS is largely based on). I wasn't that impressed. It was SA/DA but the SA was nowhere near a 1911 SA, I mean not even close. Hopefully the OSS has improved upon this otherwise I will continue to be a happy Glock consumer.

Re: Taurus OSS
I thought you might like to know that Tautus 24/7 OSS .45 seems to be back on the market. I bought one at a gun show in Jacksonville, Fl on April 12. I will go to the woods and try it out on Sat. Will probably make a 45 Super out of it. It is suppose to have an 18# spring but it is a lot stiffer than my G20
