Default Does anyone want to go to D.C. for some OC?

I am thinking about heading down to D.C. one day this week (preferably Wednesday or Thursday) to enjoy some of the newfound freedom they just discovered, maybe (definitely) take some pictures, talk to some people, see the sights, etc.

    Anyone wanna come with?

Number 1: You had better get in ahead of the stay:

Number 2: You should make contact with Chief Lanier and let her know where you plan to be and what you plan to be doing (like Philly). Not all of DC is open for such activity and she could provide guidance. I work nights, but could take time off. I may not live long enough to see this opportunity come around again.

Just don't go armed into any fed buildings. They're sort of tough to avoid in the touristy parts of DC.

Not at all, you just remain outside.

EDIT: OC pics in front of the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, the Washington Monument, etc.

I've got a bad feeling about this. I can't quite put my finger on it, but something tells me that this is a bad idea.

I think it all hinges on how it's done. If it's done the way the marches in Philly have been done, Speaking for myself, I'm in.

But it has to be ahead of the stay. And I have a feeling the stay is going to be rushed through at unheard-of speed. Like hours. And kill this whole thing.

I agree with you on this.

I am 100 percent in favor of OC. But although our country has seen great progress in our civil liberties (with regards to firearms rights), there is still a very powerful anti-gun minority that is doing everything imaginable to 'keep the old ways".

Being a civil rights activist is important, but it comes at a steep personal price. I cannot afford that price. I have a family to take care of. I cannot afford to go to jail, have my reputation sabotaged, or even worse. That doesn't mean I don't contribute where I can to our cause (donate, vote, etc). And I certainly support the efforts of folks who have the courage to take the personal risks to advance our freedoms, and do a good job at advancing our cause in a responsible and lawful manner. I just hope that the potential risks and price of being the pioneers of our freedoms are known to those who choose the brave path.
