Looking for a reliable 22 small size pistol.
Hi folks,
I am looking to potentially add a small 22 pistol to my collection. I had one of the new Umarex/Walther PPK/S 22's and it was probably the worst functioning gun I've ever owned. It would either FTF or FTE on every round in every magazine. I also had a Ruger SR22. While that was more reliable, it felt like a toy and still did not have the reliability that I would find acceptable. I am trying to find something "pocket sized" or at least small that is reliable and fun to shoot. I love my Buckmark, but I want something smaller that I can even carry confidently as a back up gun or even primary carry if needed.
Here are a few that I've found but know little about:
Sig P938-22
Beretta 21 Bobcat
Beretta 87 Cheetah
Browning 1911-22
I am interested to hear any experiences you've had with these guns and if you would suggest one over another. I am really leaning towards the Sig 938-22 since I own a 938, but I don't know much about the reliability of the 22 version. If you know of any others that would be reliable and durable, I'll look in to those too!

I've always liked and had good results with the Beretta Bobcat.

This would be for plinking and conceal carry (If needed). I am looking for something smaller than my Buckmark. I'm hearing good things about the little Beretta Bobcats. I can't find much information at all on the Sig P938-22. Maybe it's too new?

Idk much about them but I'm considering a beretta 21. I've seen some videos of them and they seem reliable but I don't know if you're thinking about carrying this pistol. If so the .22 isn't the most reliable pistol for self defense.

How about a Ruger LCR in .22? I had a friend that had a Bobcat and it was temperamental with FTE on a lot of ammo. Nice gun though and I guess once the right ammo is found would be acceptable.

Re: Looking for a reliable 22 small size pistol.
We have a Ruger SP101 revolver in 22. Kind of looking for a small semi-auto in 22. I was at the local gun shop and saw a Walther TPH. How are those for reliability?

Re: Looking for a reliable 22 small size pistol.
The TPH is like most small 22s and if you can find the right ammo it is good, but it takes a bit to find what a particular gun likes. Spare mags are rare and expensive (~$100 ea)
