1 in the chamber or not
Just got a new Tcp. Not used to carrying a weapon with no safety on it. A little freaked out of a round in the chamber. I have a holster which allows both OC and CC. I realize not having one in the chamber decreases time to draw and shoot significantly. What do ya'll do?

I carry one in the chamber always in all guns i carry. Make sure whatever holster you have covers the trigger.

Re: 1 in the chamber or not
IMHO, it's worthless unless it's loaded.
From the looks the TCP is taurus' striker style so you shouldnt have any worries .a slow death awaits you,but not before love reminds you that there is good in you

Nothing worse than a useless gun. My Glock is hot 24/7.
I always sleep with my guns when you are gone

Re: 1 in the chamber or not
I do both actually. Most of the time I do carry chambered in a holster. I do occasionally stick a condition 3 pistol in my waistband with no holster (I know sue me) when I'm just going on quick trips somewhere or want deep concealment.

Yeah, just get a holster that completely covers the trigger area on both sides. I always carry my G23 with one in the pipe in an IWB holster that has kydex on either side of the trigger guard.
Israeli draw takes time and usually requires two hands which you may or may not have... I wouldn't risk itOpera Non Verba

all you get is ridicule, laughter,

Re: 1 in the chamber or not
The Taurus TCP and Ruger LCP are copies of the KelTec P3AT.
Hammer fired (though the hammer is hidden), double action only.
The trigger pull is long and very heavy. This is essentially your safety.
That said, keep it in a holster that covers the trigger, especially if pocket carrying. Oh and don't put anything else in the same pocket.
Also keep in mind just how hard it is to rack the slide. Racking my KelTec is a real workout.
Don't be afraid to carry it completely empty for a while to get used to it. No bullets at all. Cock it and carry it all day (carry something else loaded too just in case). You should find at the end of the day that it is still cocked, it did not "go off" in your pocket. I did this for a few days to get used to the notion of a 1911 with the hammer cocked.
