Re: Bestow "In Memoriam" title to mrwildroot?
I think the intent was to deal with cases where adding the title might bring the forum into disrepute, not set up a popularity contest.
IMO unless there is some good reason to not add the "in memoriam" title, it should be done. The guy obviously has at least one friend here if it was even asked for. It costs nothing to do it.
Or as a former mod put it:

i agree with Frenchy, a member is a member regardless of rank, posts or even rep.
now it would be stupid a member of a club to have to be voted in memoriam....

Re: Bestow "In Memoriam" title to mrwildroot?
In my relatively short time here, I have seen many people come and go. Some were members before I was here, one day they are contributing, the next they are gone. I sometimes wonder what happens to those posters.
It's hard to tell what a persons true post count is since posts in the lounge and former political wasteland don't count. A person with 400 posts may well have 4000 and we newer members would never know it.
People stop posting for all sort of reasons, sickness, death, new interests, tired of the same old, same old, etc.... But a person leaving for whatever reason does not wipe out that person at one time may have made many contributions here. Just because I was not here when they did, does not mean that they did not add to the site. Not to mention contributions to the cause outside of the forum. (making events, contributing money, representing carriers in a good light). I am sure that there are many members who have done more for the cause than I have, and have contributed more to the site than I ever will, but have moved on, that does not diminish their contributions at all.
In the end if someone comes up for the "In Memoriam" title, I will vote yes unless someone is able to point out concrete reasons why they do not deserve it. Just because they are not here anymore does not mean they should be ignored. IMO.

Agreeing with EmptyMag. I find it embarrassing that there is even a question here.
