Is open carry of a rifle legal in Washington depending on the cop that sees you doing it? That's what I'm getting from this..so either way it's bullshit

It looks like it may be legal depending on the circumstances.
I get that but my problem is they took it from him, checked him out and then decided to give it back to him and then arrested and charged him for carrying it after they gave it back.

    That screams of dishonesty.

No kidding and when did the police have the right to disallow you access to your own property? In some states that is considereda form of unlawful imprisonment. He had every legal right to go retrieve his vehicle which is his Property. These cops are bull shit what kills me is the sheer number of them wonder how many actual crimes happened while half the force was busy making this kids life difficult for no reason. Upon contact they disarmed him and let him walk which means they did not deem him a threat. Forcing him to walk away and not allowing him access to his vehicle then arresting him pretty much is them setting him up. He was even informed that the next time he made contact that they may greet him differently add he had been advised. Then instead of allowing him to put the firearm in his vehicle which would have alleviated the police officers statements that he's was causing a disturbance they made him walk further in public with his rifle. No .... No that wasn't a set up not at all.

Looks like this guys trial has started.

Video one shows the original charge of Trespassing being dismissed in Mack Worley's first trial. The case is argued by Mack's attorney, Spencer Freeman, that the police unjustly arrested Mack for trespassing and not for violating RCW 9.41.270, "Weapons apparently capable of producing bodily harm—Unlawful carrying or handling."

Video two shows the lawyer arguing that the police were the ones causing alarm with multiple police converging on the scene with guns drawn. The prosecutor admits he has no witnesses that were alarmed or running away before the police arrived.

With the po-po, they demand courtesy and respect but usually don't show it. They only care that they go home. They don't care about you or your dog. Hell, if they shoot you, they get a paid vacation while the "incident is under investigation."

He should have called the cop who named him Mr Smith, Elmer Fudd.
Gotta stay awake, gotta try and shake off this creeping malaise
