Decent fishing spots?
Im looking to take my 5yr old fishing. She likes to fish but with small kids if there aren't bites interest is lost quickly. Don't care about the type of fish caught. Just want to be able to catch fish. They will be thrown back. I Have a PA fishing license and Im not interested in paying 50 bucks for a Md nonresident license. Im in the Delta area more specifically Susquehanna trails. Basically anywhere within 1/2 hour or so is fine. Thanks in advance for any help.

Go to Pinchot Park...great spots for kids fishing....plenty of bluegills to catch...good fun for young children...It is Gifford Pinchot state park.

Lake Williams is a very fun place to fish . We fish in the evening for blue gill , white perch , bass . Than at night we catch some pretty decent catfish . Lake Williams is the run off from lake Red Men .

I think I will try Williams. A guy I work with lives in Dover and told me to try Williams as well. Probably 35 mintutes away. Also interested in Pinchot but there would have to be planning involved and possibly a weekend trip. Keep the suggestions coming guys. This is much helpful.

We're planning on taking a trip to Lake Redman one of these weekends.

all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

Re: Decent fishing spots?
Drinking beer at Redman or Williams would probably be a bad idea. Go to Redman with a bobber and small piece of worm and your kids should be able to catch as many as they want. Redman is overpopulated with blue gill so most of them are small, I go out with a boat and can catch 50 in a couple hours

Re: Decent fishing spots?
Yea I get that. I can drink beer at home not concerned with drinking while out fishing with the kid/s. I appreciate the advice on the bobber and worm though. This is a lot more for the kid than for me. I Don't even eat fish. Any fish caught is welcomed whether too big or too small they will all be returned to the water after a picture at the most.
You mention a boat. How is it from the shore?

Re: Decent fishing spots?
I have not fished from shore in many years. I would pack light so that you can move, plan to find a spot and fish it for 15 minutes and if you are not catching anything then move to the next spot. Also do not cast way out, I would fish within about 15 feet of the shore. They do rent small rowboats at Redman, I am not sure what the cost would be
