Default 1911 springfield armory safety issue

Ok my springfield armory 1911 ultra compact safety switch keeps going from the safe to fire when holstered. Done it since I bought it. Anybody else have this issue. There a fair amount of resistance to switch safe to fire. But in a holster it just switches on it own.

Are you sure it does this when you holster it.....or when you un-holster it?

When I put in the holster the safety on, when I put the holster on my belt it's on, cover with my shirt, Walk around for a while, check it with out removing from holster and it switched to fire. Holster does not contact safety switch.

Leather holster? Kydex holster? Plastic molded? Or.....just give me the brand name of the holster. I'm suspecting that when you move (perhaps bend over or stoop over) the safety must come in contact with the holster. My other thoughts would be have you ever had any safety work or other custom work done to the firearm? And did you buy it new or used?

    Thanks

I had the same problem with a full size. Replacing the ambi safety with a single sided one was the answer for me.

Leather, molded, for osw. But for concealment. Bought it used but all factory as far as I can tell. It was carried a lot, a lot of wear from in and out of a holster, But very little wear on slide/barrel. so it wasnt fired much.

Gonna have to look into a single side safety. Did know there were any out there.
