    Default LPRGC I.D.P.A. questions

I have been trying to make my first match and I think I can get to the 6/28 one?????
    1) About how long does a match take...roughly ,I know it depends on turnout and such.
    2) guesstimate on round count...200 good for SSP

    thanks in advance,

They usually finish up around 2:30 or 3:30.

200 is more than enough, but it's good to take extra. Matches there seem to be about 100-120.

Do you have everything you'll need? IDPA approved holster, mag pouch(es), at least 3 mags, concealment garment. If it's your first IDPA match, they'll let you shoot without a concealment garment.

Be safe and have fun! Maybe I'll see you there.

I have participated in a couple of the matches there. I don't have one of those official IDPA vests or anything, just use a shirt that covers my firearm. I am not too worried about my scores, I just like the camaraderie and the more realistic practice, so I figure I should wear something that I might actually wear while carrying my firearm.

still waiting on my kids Legion Baseball schedule to pan out but im hoping we can finally get to this match. If they let you go without cover garment i might just do that our first time out. just to get one under the belt w/o too many distractions. im sure its going to be a little nerve racking the first match.

It has been a while since I've shot an IDPA Match at Lower Providence but my first time out, they encouraged new shooters to not wear a cover garment.

If you are prone to sunburn, pack some sunscreen. There isn't much shade to hide out in between shooters.

    Good luck and have fun

ok all good info...outside of the usual range bag full of shooting equipment what else should i have? i.e. food, water? do i need a chair or does it move pretty quick? I dont want to be "Johnny tactical" but creature comforts that might make it a little more enjoyable. I'm thinkin maybe a dove chair and water. maybe a sammich?

    Thanks

Yea, definitely bring food and plenty to drink. They usually have bottled water on hot days, but it's good to bring extra or a sports drink or something. Bring sunscreen because there is nowhere to hide from the sun there. They have portable canopies they put up, but there won't be enough room for everyone. I'm taking a big golf umbrella so I have my own shade. You could bring a chair. It's nice to sit down every now and then, but if you help tape targets you won't have much time to sit. I wouldn't worry about taping your first time out. Just focus on shooting and being safe.

The 6/28 match *may* have lighter attendance than usual, as Easton is hosting the sanctioned Beast in the East match that weekend. I've only been to LPRGC for a classifier and the Bug Out match, so I don't know what 'normal' is.
