Looking for opinions re: Long Term Gun Storage
Hope this is an appropriate section for this post; if not please feel free to relocate it (with my apologies). I'm looking at the possibility of having to put a number of my guns into storage for an extended time. I'm not sure how long it will be, but safe to say it will be more than one year and probably not more than 5. I'm not talking about burying them or anything that extreme. They would be inside, but not necessarily in a heated/cooled or climate controlled condition, (i.e. the temperature and humidity will vary with weather and season. Security won't be a major concern as access to the building is limited and I have complete trust in those with access. I'm looking at putting the guns in a fire resistant and locked cabinet but another gun safe isn't in the cards at this time. The cabinet will be placed in an out of the way spot so it won't be obvious and won't have to be moved. If anyone has had experience with a similar situation I'd be interested in what procedure(s) and products you used and/or would recommend that I consider before putting the guns into storage. I'm leaning towards using the Break-Free Collector preservative / lubricant and ZCORR storage bags but would like to hear from anyone that's actually used them before spending that much money. Any/all other ideas welcomed too. Thanks

Coat the guns in Renaissance Wax. It will keep all moisture off the guns and not dry out.
There's no such thing as a free lunch.

Re: Looking for opinions re: Long Term Gun Storage
I know of FFL's that charge $10/gun/month for storage. Depending on the value of your guns, might be worthwhile to make sure they don't end up rust buckets.

Will storage be in a climate-controlled environment?
Can/Will the actions be removed from the stock(s)?
Cosmoline- Excellent long-term gun storage.
TC-11 - Very Good long term storage.
Ballistol- Very Good long term storage.
Cosmoline is the best, no doubt.
TC-11 and Ballistol will require additional treatments every year, or so.
In any case, I would also suggest looking into desiccants and VCI bags.
