G34 holster options
So...I finally sketched out all the priorities on paper for my next pistol, what I need vs. what I have, and the next opportunity that came my way for that was a nice gen 3 Glock 34. While I have that on layaway for a bit (wife's birthday and it at the same time means I gotta finagle some things) it's time to shop for holsters. I gather that, more or less, it's just a long slide 17, so theoretically any open ended holster for the 17 should fit, right? Now, how is that in practice, really every open bottom holster does work, or are there some that don't work perfectly? Or are there specific options for the 34 my preliminary research just isn't showing?
The goal is a good strong kydex OWB holster for OC and competition. Currently for my M&P I'm using a Safariland ALS holster and love it, so if I could go with the same I will but if someone knows a reason why that somehow won't work or there's something genuinely better I'd be interested to know."You can't stop insane people from doing insane things by passing insane laws--that's insane!" -- Penn Jillette
"To my mind it is wholly irresponsible to go into the world incapable of preventing violence, injury, crime, and death. How feeble is the mindset to accept defenselessness. How unnatural. How cheap. How cowardly. How pathetic." -- Ted Nugent

open ended holsters should work ok. they do for me . I have used glocks sport and galco,s jack slide types with no problem. keep in mind you,ll have a longer slide to clear. if your using this for carry purposes a little practice may be in order. btw roll tide. I am a Tuscaloosa boy after all.

Raven Concealment. I have one for all my carry guns.
Safariland's are always a good choice. I have a few & like them. They're built like a tank, but they're heavier & not as concealable, if that's important."It's hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong."
