Hi-power
How come I don't see more hi-powers for sale? I had one once and got rid of it because it had a terrible trigger. Now I want another one but this time definitely with a trigger job and without the magazine disconnector.
That thing carried and handled so well, just didnt shoot as good as my 1911...
Anybody a fan or hater? They're kinda spendy but as a JMB fan I might need one.

Re: Hi-power
Most of these pistols were surplussed years ago as governments moved to newer pistols and even though they appear to be in production, Browning doesn't seem to heavily promote them. It was a pistol ahead of it's time, a high capacity 9mm, but it's out of date now and people seem to have lost interest in them.
I wouldn't mind one at some point down the road but it's not a priority purchase for me.

Re: Hi-power
Surplus FN made HI powers have been coming into the country for the last 6 months. AIM just sold about 400 in the last month alone. Sarco has also had them listed. Why are they a rare find? Thats easy people buy them and keep them for life. I have several including a nazi marked bring back and the triggers on all are good.
Browing still makes em new too.Last edited by Hodgie; June 12th, 2014 at 02:25 AM.

Re: Hi-power
I'm no expert but it seems (at least by sales on GB) there's still plenty of interest and they don't go for cheap unless your looking at the Israeli suplus guns that have come in over the last few year. The Belgium and other blued versions seem to still get a good price.

Re: Hi-power
You are correct, they sell high espically if you have a war rig. Locally when I see a nice one it's priced between $500.00 and $800.00 depending on the pistol and they always sell.
These grade 2 pistols sold out in less then 30 minutes today.

Re: Hi-power
Last time I checked Surplus City in Feasterville has one or two Inglis Hi-Powers in stock. I think for $350. I picked up a surplus one at their last Black Firday sale. Love the darn thing, even if the finish is beat. Going to have it re-finished one day. I'm guessing those who have them, don't want to sell them.

Re: Hi-power
Most people that buy them like them and keep them.

Re: Hi-power
Kinda rare to find one in a gun shop. Although I do see one once in a while. Gunbroker is full of them. From rusty pitted beaters to mint safe queens. $300 and up.....way up. One of my main carry guns, and my favorite.

Re: Hi-power
Buy MKIII Hi Power. Send it to Don Williams or Jim Garthwaite for trigger job, new sights and front strap checkering. It'll probably be one of the last pistols you ever sell.
