Easiest to rack?
I have painful wrists. Therefore, I only shoot and carry revolvers. I, however, want a semi. Which in your opinions is the easiest to grip and rack? I've had a Kimber in 45cal and an XD in 9mm. Both were hard on my hands. Is there one out there that would work for my situation? Thanks.

Re: Easiest to rack?
Consider a tip barrel model Beretta. No racking required. Not big on caliber, .32 ACP is about the biggest, but stick with well reputed self defense loads.

Re: Easiest to rack?
Many auto's that have a hammer become substantially easier to rack if the hammer is cocked. Barring that, the Beretta Cheetah, Tomcat, and Bobcat offer the tip up barrel option where you do not have to rack the slide, rather you move a lever and the barrel tips up to allow you to "pre-load" the first round and then fire it in double action(or cock the hammer, and use single action)

I believe the Cheetah is .380 and is the biggest...

Re: Easiest to rack?
The Beretta 92 series is easy to rack. It is easy to install a Beretta "D" main spring which makes cocking the hammer easier, and racking the slide easier. Consider the 92FS Compact if you want to carry. Cock hammer first if you want to make it extremely easy.

Re: Easiest to rack?
Instead of changing your pistol consider changing the way you rack a slide, the sling shot manly method isn't the only game in town. My wife had surgery on both wrists for carpal tunnel syndrome 2 years ago and since has had the onsets of rheumatoid arthritis set in within the last year. Both have left her weak and in pain most days. She is able to comfortably load, rack and fire a G19, M&P Shield, and a DE 9mm.
I would rather see you carry a pistol worth carrying and not some sub par pistol you are not comfortable with in every other way loaded with a sub par round. Forget that the below video is a woman teaching other woman what to do, what she is sharing is common sense that will help all shooters.

Re: Easiest to rack?
Actually its a Beretta Model 86 in 380acp. I have one and it is very nice. Press the button and the barrel tips up. Drop a round into the chamber and press the barrel down. Insert a full magazine and you're ready to go.
The first shot is DA, the balance are SA. It is not really a small pistol, so, recoil is minimal.
