Question about shoulder holsters
I was over on the 1911forum and found a member asking if it is legal to use a shoulder holster in Pa. I told him to come over and join this site last night to get the skinny about our laws and rights. I don't think he did because he is still asking today. Could you tell me so I could relay, or if you are a member of that forum go on over and give the info yourself. Its under the holster section marker "shoulder holster question". Thanks everybody.

Re: Question about shoulder holsters
Uh, yeah you can use a shoulder holster. That's a means of concealing a pistol. I use an uncle mikes for a 357. I really don't understand why someone would think it was illegel?

Re: Question about shoulder holsters
Either which OC/CC. To me carry means carry i.e. IWB, ankle, shoulder, tactical, etc. I just want to make sure that their is no regulation in some town in Pa. that says you can't. The town will lose in the end when it goes to court but, from what I get out of it from the member on the 1911forum he doesn't have a lot of money to go to court. A memeber here stated "how much can you afford to take it to court". I just want to be correct before I open up my mouth.

Re: Question about shoulder holsters
IANAL, but I have carried in a shoulder holster for four years now. I have carried in front of LEO's and have not been arrested. I would have to say that it is not illegal.

Re: Question about shoulder holsters
IANAL and am only guessing here but..
This misnomer may have been generated due to the fact that shoulder holsters are much larger in that they have straps that are like suspenders etc. and therefore really standout. So you are more likely to come to someone's attention than say IWB during open carry. It is you. You have all the weapons that you need. Now fight. --Sucker Punch

Re: Question about shoulder holsters
Not illegal, but if you want a good one for CC it will cost $$. If you are built big like me they are not real comfy.

Re: Question about shoulder holsters
Most definatley legal. Carried my Ruger in an Uncle Mikes for a while as my primary OC holster.
Now, they are verboten in certain training courses and privately owned ranges, due to the fact that you muzzle-sweep the whole firing line when you draw one. FWIW, same goes on cross-draw and behind-the-back holsters that use a severe forward cant.
