Finally! NO thumb safety M&P Shields…..
Multiple sources telling me my new summer carry piece will be shipping mid-June and costing me no more than the TS model. April fools is over, my wife thinks I haven't bought a gun in a while, and Smith and Wesson listened to their customers.
Glock, anyone listening over there? Oh right, your correcting your screw ups with a worked over 42…..

I have a Shield and its not like its easy to activate the safety by accident. Why not just leave it off?

Re: Finally! NO thumb safety M&P Shields…..
I get that; but I have no handguns, except a single pesky 1911 (that never gets carried), that have a manual safety. I don't train with a manual safety, and I don't wanna be fumble fucking with it when I'm potentially defending my life (if I were to activate it, somehow, in the course of carry).
Opinions, opinions, you know…...I don't watch shark week. Sharks watch FLICK week.

Hey that's nice for certain applications but I am of the thought if you don't have time to deactivate a safety...you have already done a lot of things wrong by that point, and the safety is not the problem.

Finally!
Had a chance to get a S&W Shield - for FREE, about a year ago; I turned it down. Did not want one with a thumb safety (and a ridiculously small one at that!).
I've been saying that if S&W ever came out with one without the thumb safety, I would be all over it. I guess I'll just wait a bit, almost bought a XDs 9mm a couple of days ago - but decided to wait, glad I did.Tomorrow's battle is won during today's practice.

My EDC is a Ruger SR9c. I carry it every day with the manual safety off. It's really not that big of a deal.
