Default Do you carry at work?

Something I was thinking about the other day. Should I carry at work? How would my co-workers feel if they knew I was armed? I'm a cook(my college job, pays the bills and i never have to buy groceries :P ) so it's about 150 degrees or more in the kitchen on a hot day, so the most concealment I could offer is a t-shirt and an apron. As of now I can not justify being armed while on the job, however its come up in discussions with the other cooks; what if some guy loses it cause he received a well burger instead of a medium, or his bacon wasn't crispy enough. Seriously though, do many of you carry on the job? If so, would you mind stating your occupation and reason for carrying while at work? Thought it would be interesting to see what you folks here on the forum have to say, thanks much!

I carry every day at work. I am the boss so that makes things easier...

Offtopic here: Know any good chefs or cooks that want to cook in my restaurant?

It's best to find out what the policies are on firearms at your workplace. Who knows, your boss may be as cool as Longshot and you won't have a problem. If you are not allowed to carry and want to carry, DO NOT tell anyone. Co-workers can go from being your friends to being your enemies in 1 flip of a burger . Of course, this is also dependent on how important is your job to you and your finances.

I am a consultant so I get placed on various projects in PA and other states. I have been working from home for the past 2+ years so I haven't had issues with "carrying at work". I'll be on a new project soon and will definitely find out their firearms policies. I won't risk it since the majority of my family's finance is dependent on my having my job.

PS: I wouldn't worry too much about a pissed off customer shooting up the restaurant. You should be more concerned about being robbed then tied up in the freezer.

While I am also "the boss", I do a lot of subcontracting. I carry everywhere it is not forbidden by law. If someone I am contracting for, has a problem with my carrying on their job, I will lock it up. If they just have a problem with it being open, I will conceal it. Their job, their rules. I install electronic security systems.

I do not carry at work for obvious reasons, no guns in a prison, unless I'm on a transport. Then I have to carry anyway.

I wish I could say I carry at work. It would make me feel a lot better at times. I work on a Medic Unit in the very quiet and pleasant town of York City. But since by Federation rules only acting/onduty LEO are allowed to carry on an ambulance in PA. Which sucks. -BB
