Montgomery county courthouse lock-box?
Next week I'm heading down the the courthouse to visit the Retirement Dept, it's located in the same building as the Sheriff Dept.
Does that same building (sheriff/retirement) have the lockboxes for me to secure my firearm? Or do I need to go to the main building to have the firearm secured?

Re: Montgomery county courthouse lock-box?
I'm fairly certain the sheriff is in the main courthouse. I used the gun locker about 18 months ago when I had jury duty, and found the sheriff's deputies on duty that day to be stand-up chaps. No dogs were shot by the police, and I was not forced to walk around NorrisHole unarmed.
As a side note there is an excellent sushi restaurant in NorrisHole. Who knew?

I suppose sushi's okay if it's cooked properly.

Re: Montgomery county courthouse lock-box?
When my wife and I went to the courthouse for our marriage license, we went to the building across the street. that building also had a lock box, where I stored my firearm. The deputies there were professional. The deputy (older guy) on the floor that we were on was VERY pro-2nd amendment. a good experience for me.

I made a mistake, the retirement office is the building across the street (One Montgomery Plaza).
American1776, I do believe that is the building I'm talking about, thank you.

The Montgomery County deputies aren't bad - I only got attitude from them on a few different occasions, and considering I was there for over a week on jury duty, checking my weapon in and out twice a day, that's not bad at all.

Re: Montgomery county courthouse lock-box?
Update: went the the County Controllor office where the retirement papers get filled out, located across the street of the courthouse (Swede St.), One Montgomery Plaza.
I CC. Walked into building, no metal detectors. Just a guy sitting behind the information desk. I didn't ask the guy behind desk about lock box's, I figured if no metal detectors, then no issue. Went right to the 5th floor and filled out paperwork, and left building.
