S&W 22A extractor removal
Greetings,
I was trying to do a very complete cleaning of the breach face, etc of my S&W 22A, and could not figure out how to remove the extractor. If you reference this diagram at Brownells:
http://www.brownells.com/schematics/...2A-sid949.aspx
You'll see that the extractor, spring and plunger ( #s 4, 5, 6) are contained in the slide (# 65). There are no pins either in the print or that I could find on the slide that retain it. I had already removed the firing pin assembly/slide insert (# 39), so the slide is otherwise entirely clear of all parts.
Anyone done this before? There was a good bit of crud under the extractor hook; I got the majority of it out, but am curious as to the correct method to remove it next time around. Thanks much!
Regards, Jim
