It is good with 223. I keep it on hand mostly for 243 Winchester (36.6 gr pushing an 85gr Sierra HPBT has minimal recoil and puts every shot in one hole at 75 yards), but when I am out of 4198, I use it in 223. 25.3gr of 4064 pushing a 55gr FMJBT works fine for me.

4064 Has been my go to powder since i started reloading. I shoot mainly WWII era milsurps and to keep the number of powders i stock to a minimum i found that 4064 works in everything from .243, 7x57 Mauser, .308, .30-06, .303, 7.62x54R, 8x57 Mauser and even .300 Win Mag. The fact that it is easy to find is added plus!

I just started reloading 5.56 with 4198 results have been ok, accuracy is acceptable but function in my AR has been spotty. I'll have to load up some with 4064 and give it a try.
    I want your vz.33

Although we don't shoot at thousand yard distances (yet), I can tell you that out of my AIAW (bolt rifle), these rounds using IMR 4064 (42.5 grains) just trumped every other powder we tested

    . . .

    For us:

    OAL: 2.826
    Crimp: .332
    Brass: WIN
    Primer: FGMM
FGMM appears to use 42.8gr for the 168gr (measured, may well be specced at 42.75gr), and 41.745gr for the 175gr (straight off the ammunition card/build sheet and confirmed by measurement).

I bought boxes of FGMM 168s and Lapua Scenar 167s for the first couple of hundred rounds out of a new CZ750. The FGMMs were certainly sub-moa out to 300yds, which is as far as I can go. The Scenars seemed a bit better, though, with a 4-shot group of 0.75" at 200 yards. Didn't do a lot more to test for accuracy . . . was having too much fun shooting little ducks, golf balls, and bowling pins at distance for the first time

My own load development begins next week and will focus on 4064/168gr and N140-4064/167gr lol.

Its been my favorite for the same reason -it works well in everything from the .222 through the 8x56R Hungarian. An extra plus - it is one of the powders with a burn rate recommended for use in the M1 Garand
