Anybody else collect cheap guns?
I have an affinity for cheap guns. They're not all I own or what I carry (I carry a PM40) but I like to collect them. I have 2 much maligned Hi Points, a Bersa, and a Sub $200 Tokarev. I am working on filling out a collection of Rohm revolvers (look them up - one of the founders of the term Saturday Night Special). I have an RG14 (22), RG38 (snub 38) and just purchased an RG38 S (4" 38). Would eventually like to get one of every gun they made. Who else collects cheap guns?

Re: Anybody else collect cheap guns?
I don't collect them, but I do have a nickle Jennings J-22 that I have a fondness for. It's the older horizontal safety version with wood grips.
Pot metal, no striker block, and most people tell me to sell it at a "buy-back"
Somehow, though, it reliably cycles everything from CCI Mini-Mags to Remington Goldens and even sub-sonic ammo.

Re: Anybody else collect cheap guns?
As I favor quality over quantity, I'd have to say no.

Congrats on 2000 posts.
The quality question doesn't come into play as it is collection for curiosity sake. For example lots of folks collect Pez dispensers. No real need for them and they're cheap plastic - it collecting as a hobby.
BTW - there's porn on the internet too you know (just sayin' in case you need other sites to visit)Last edited by Rblakely; May 20th, 2014 at 09:00 PM.

My girlfriend reads the forum, so I'd like to go on record as stating that porn is icky and I would never watch it
I see what you're saying, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. It's just that for me, personally, I would rather buy one $500 gun than two $250 guns. There's no such thing as a free lunch.

Re: Anybody else collect cheap guns?
I consider my inexpensive guns to be my Glocks and a couple others I have. As far as collecting them just because, I'd say no, I buy these particular guns because I like what they offer. I have a couple guns I bought that at the time were not collector grade guns, now they have become that because they are no longer made and the price has gone way up. I prefer to call them investment grade.

My Bulgarian Makarov is the cheapest hand gun I ever bought, cheapest rifle was my first Norinco SKS for $99 they both shoot wonderfully.
The Makarov was $150 IIRC & I wish I would have bought 5 of them at that price!!!
