taurus PT111 help

ok so i bought a PT111 2 weeks ago. its been running fine. ive been cleaning it regularly. anyway, i went to field strip it saturday night, and it locked up on me. heres what i did.

followed the directions how they are printed on the manual.

took out the mag
locked back the slide
took out the "take down pin"
held in the trigger as i slid the slide off and thats where the problem happened. the slide just stopped once it got back to "operating position"(for lack of better words)
it wont go back or forth. its just stuck.
anyone got any ideas before i take it back up to french creek?

Seems that happened to me awhile ago. I can't recall the details but IF I recall correctly I had to work the barrel around a little to free the slide. Give that a try, Good luck.

I've owned a PT111 and a PT145, and if I remember correctly the procedure is:
Remove mag
pull back slide and push slide release up to hold
remove pin
allow slide to move back to normal position
pull trigger and move slide off frame.

Try that.

problem solved. seems i pulled the trigger back before i had the slide in the normal position and the trigger was stuck back and blocking the slide. thanks for the help guys.

SAme problem, slide jammed tight. Called Taurus, CSR told me to hit the rear of the slide with a rubber mallet. Chickened out, sent it back to Miami, ($53.44 fee) got it back in 5 days. Went to the range ran 150 rounds through it no problems, Cleand the bore afraid to field strip it.

It is a well performing pocket rocket but there is a design fallacy somewhere in the slide which they said they adjusted. (How can that be unless there was an applied grinding some where.) Any thoughts????
