    Default dunhams ak

The only place that seems to have ak type rifles here is dunhams. Anyone buy one? Is it a good idea or not?

they usually have wasr-10's, just make sure to get a doublestack version. Some people knock wasrs' but i've got almost 10krounds threw mine and it hasnt been cleaned in 3500 and I can't think of a single malfunction with it so i'd say they are good to go.

+1 on the double stack version. Seems like Dunhams carries a lot of neutered single-stack versions from the bad old days of the 94' AWB. Definitely be careful. It also seems like a lot of them are 5.45x39mm as well, if that matters to you or not.

the 5.45x39mm is a good option right about now.. about same power as 5.56mm but is cheaper than either the 5.56 or 7.62 by a long shot.

I really should get an underfolder for my collection before the next election is over.

All of the WASR's are single stacks when imported into this country. They are considered a "sporting rifle" because they cannot accept the evil "hi-capacity" magazines.

All of the double stack rifles have had the modifications done by Century to take the double stacks. All parts are of Romanian manufacture so Century also installs the proper amount of U.S. made parts to make the rifle legal since after the mag well modification, the rifle falls under 922r compliance.

If you buy a single stack, you can open the mag well yourself and install the proper amount of U.S. made parts and have the same rifle that costs $100 more in the store, minus the price of parts which are availible almost everywhere. I did it and enjoyed the experience but its really up to you.

which Dunhams are you guys talking about? The one in Mechanicsburg has had them for $299 for single stack and I think $329 for double stack when they have had their sales in the past.

the $299 and $329's are the wasr's, the ones I said about in their ads are different.

should have the bulgy and yugo at all locations, but I saw them at the ones around PGH specifically.
