Default Springfield TRP .45ACP, How To: Field strip

Springfield TRP .45ACP, How To: Field strip

I don't even own this gun anymore, but when I took it apart for one final cleaning before selling, it was almost like I'd never done it before. It's a puzzle to reassemble. I should have written these notes to myself 10 years ago.

This is just one way to do it. I don't know if this is the approved way, or the best. But it's the only way that worked for me.

Apologies for the 3 separate files but I don't think the attachment guidelines for a 2MB max .pdf are up to date. I think it's more like 1MB max file size.

I guess I've been doing it wrong all this time. Never took mine apart that way.

The first thing I did with my TRP was replace the stock guide rod with a GI rod, Wilson flatwire spring & cap. Fixed the takedown pia right from the beginning. Needing tools to "field strip" a 1911 just never seemed to make much sense to me.
