    Default Building a 9mm AR

    what are the diff between a 9mm build and a 223 ?
Is just the hammer diff in the lower? Is there a diff buffer?
    What about the mag block?
    What kind of mags?

I know the upper obviosly would be different, I would just buy a complete 9mm upper.

I had heard some brands did not like HP's.
What have your experiances been with what brand?

I would want it to be capable of shooting HP's ,+p's, +p+'s, and cheapo smellarific wolf.

    just doing some thinking.....................

Heavier buffer, mag block (Hahn precision bottom loading), correct hammer (DPMS), and 9mm Mags (I'm using Colt 9mm mags and the beta 100round cmag. ). I have an RRA upper with 9" TROS barrel and HK 3 lug flash hider, and have used 2 different lowers (anvil arms and double star) with HP ammo and FMJ ammo, zero problems. I usually use Winchester for the FMJ, and used hydrashoks for hp. I have not tried any other ammo.

Would one of THESE KITS from Model1 be good? I'm debating going with a 9mm for my first AR.

RRA lower, custom 10.7oz buffer, VM (and a RRA) mag blocks, DPMS LPK, std upper. 5.5" barrel

    uses unmodified Uzi mags

Never run HP so i cant say, but it runs FMJ 100%

Yes, the VM block allows the use of un-modified uzi mags. Other blocks use modified uzi, or Colt mags.

I ordered the new RRA 9MM AR with the lower machined out of a solid block of aluminum. The wait is 5 months, but I'll bet I'm the only one at the club that has one!

There are alot of guys here that have built them with no problem, but there are an equal number of guys who could never get them to run. Talk to John B. (IPSC shooter) at PMSC about his horror story.

When mine comes in come August, you can shoot it.
