    Default GUN FOR SALE DISCUSSION

Can I legally sell my Tactical Weapons/long guns without an FFL on the internet? And can I sell to anyone ? Please let me know if you have ant tips for selling the gun online or in person.

    Thanks for the help

JMO. I would go thru an FFL. Especially if you don't know the buyer.
You could be subject to suit if the buyer committed a crime.

Yes, you can sell and ship (directly) a long gun to a fellow PA resident only. Provided he is not prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm. To a non-resident it needs to be sent to the buyers FFL.

Long guns sold to someone in state don't need to go through a FFL and I wouldn't bother with it unless the buyer strikes you as being unscrupulous.
You should definitely ask them if they are prohibited and even have them sign a bill of sale stating they are not prohibited, that should cover you. A lot of sellers are now asking for LTCF so they can be reasonably sure the buyer isn't prohibited.

    ^^ This ^^

It's been discussed to death here, but here's a simple rule:

Long gun sale between PA to PA resident does not require an FFL, everything else does.

Along these same lines, I've been AR shopping and noticed a number of sellers saying "buyer pays transfer fee". What's up with that?
I'm not paying a transfer fee to buy a rifle in state, sorry.

Some people will only sell through an FFL in case a potential buyer is a prohibited person. It's their way of covering themselves since the FFL will do a PICS.

That's ok, I get that, but I don't think they should expect the buyer to pay for that since it's an option the seller wants and not a requirement.
I guess it could be negotiated like anything else but as a buyer, I'm not overpaying for a rifle so the seller can feel warm and fuzzy.

And to be perfectly honest, I'm not prohibited but one of the reasons I'm shopping the used market is so there is no PICS.
