PHILADELPHIA -

We're following breaking news in Philadelphia's Overbrook section. Police tell us a suspect in a late-night home invasion has been shot and killed by the homeowner.

It happened on the 5800 block of Wyndale Avenue around 10 p.m. Tuesday.

We're told the 22-year-old man arrived home and found four or five people in his house. One of them was killed. Police are searching for the others.

They tell us the homeowner was also shot in the leg, but is expected to be OK.

FOX 29's Jennifer Joyce has the latest details in this report Wednesday morning from Philadelphia police headquarters.

The 'hood gets more and more dangerous. This story makes my mother's home invasion seem "better." My mother's invader was a middle-aged woman whom I suspect is living in the next street. In this current case, there were four/five intruders.

I doubt it will be long before this plague expands beyond the outskirts of the city and starts hitting the "nice" suburbs (e.g. the Main Line)...

That's some scary shiznit! I was in Upper Darby last week taking my daughter to a concert. Anyhow, never been there but drove down from the 69th street station to have a look. Passed by the "Wheels Of Soul Motorcycle Club" clubhouse. I'm way whiter than I thought I was. ;-) That opened my eyes that I have been quite sheltered as of late.

Speaking of the "mainline". I just got a follow up call from lower merion police today. They were asking if i had gotten my stolen pistol back yet (1997).
