My kid used to make mobile spud launchers when he was is high school. Someone called the po-po and said that people were "poaching" and firing weapons. PSP showed up, guns drawn. After realizing what the actual situation was, they ended up with hand drawn diagrams on how to build one.

We had actual potato guns growing up. Some PVC, a grill igniter, and a can of propellant. Once we had the bright idea to poke holes in the potatoes and soak them in lacquer thinner. Shooting at a chain link fence was quite amusing. It was dumb looking back on it but at least it was on a buddies private property, no vandalism.
