    Default Eye Doc Needed

Looking for some recommendations for an optometrist in the Hatboro, Willow Grove, Warminster or surrounding areas who is firearm friendly.

I'm in the market for new glasses or contacts and since I'm having some trouble with the front sight of my pistol getting fuzzy, I thought I'd ask my old doc what she recommended. She informed me she "didn't do guns".

So I decided to look around to see if I could find a new eye doc who was experienced dealing with people who shoot to see what my options are.

    Thanks.

I am confused over this. Did you ask the doc to "do guns"?
Did the doc refuse to treat you on the basis of your hobby?
I wonder if she would refuse a cop or soldier?

You should complain to her medical group ( assuming she is part of a larger system), to your insurer, the state licensing authority and any medical board she is a member of.

All of my providers know I shoot. None have raised any undue concerns.

Louis X. Santore, M.D. at Lankenau Hospital

He is my eye doctor. When I mentioned that I needed a specifc focal length for my glasses to see up close (I have to build equipment) he prescribed my glasses accordingly. He also has an optician connected to his practice, and the optician is tops.

A doctor denying service due to political stance? You'd think that would be against some sort of ethics.

I would definitely be filing a complaint with the state medical board.

She didn't say no to providing me with service, never got that far. I causally asked about eye care + target shooting before hand and got a glazed look. All she said was 'I don't do guns'.

Not sure what she meant, didn't ask for a clarification since I wasn't overly happy with her or her prices and since I haven't been in to have my eyes checked for a few years , I left.

I'd rather spend my money where they want my business.
