    Default Wyoming County courthouse issue.

Went to renew my LTCF, and was told by the Deputy at the security checkpoint that I HAD to put my weapon in my car, and that the lockers that they have 5 ft away from the metal detector are for LEO only. I have printed out the appropriate statutes and plan to have a talk with the sheriff. As far as the renewal, 15 minutes start to finish.

That Deputy does indeed need a talking to. Please let us know how you make out with this.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

I keep a copy of 18 Pa. C.S. §913(e) on my phone just for such situations. Easy fix. I actually had the exact same argument with the deputy at the door of the Beaver Co court house until I showed him that, then he relented.

I don't know where these deputies and security officers get this idea that those boxes are for LEO's. The law specifically says they are for folks carrying, and the law specifically exempts LEO's from having to check their firearms.

I'm sure that they are aware but they are going to show you "who the boss is" Imo. There is always a Jack Booted Thug to ruin it for all. Talk with the Sheriff and let us know how that goes.
