Default Found a Luger 1938 S/42 today with new pics, Better

Its really late, I just got in after a long day followed by a long night,'
Ive been helping a friend cleaning out the estate of her past father in law and as it turned out he had a few guns,
Found a rusty Mauser 7mm, A couple old rusty 22 rifles, Yes single shot boy scout type entry .22s an RG .22 cowboy action as well as a ruger blackhawk in 357,
Ive been buying all the fire arms as her Mom needs cash now,
Well this Luger turned up this evening,
Well marked military pistol with 4" barrel and stock mount grip,
All numbers matching except for proper year mag, 1938 S/42 about 95+% blue and very, very clean bore,,,,
    I am truly impressed,
Now I don't know much about the Lugers, But I think its a keeper,
    Sorry for the bad pic,
Its late, Ive been up for 20 hours,
Ill get real pics tomorrow before dark,
Any information on links would be appreciated,
    Thanks all,
    Remember,
When someone asks for your help,
    Help them !

I hope you have a C&R license. Nice find, and a great way to help those in need.
    George,
So many guns, so little money.

Great score! That looks nice, and probably worth some $$$. I have a BYF (Mauser) 41 Luger that I shoot regularly, and it is very accurate, and reliable.

Ill be going to the FFL. next week with "Mom" to transfer the pistols.
She wanted them out of the house as she is scared of them, Her husband passed last saturday, 4-6-14 while he was out moving his wood shop to the new house they moved into a couple months ago.
He was trying to remove a generator from the wood shop by himself at the age of 72 and he was a life long smoker,
He died of a heart attack, Alone in his wood shop,
I met him over a decade ago and helped him with a couple house hold repairs.
    Anyway,
I have always kept everything legal and will do so with these firearms.
Im pretty happy to add this to my collection as I have a 1913 and a 1914, 1911,
A 1942 Hipower, a 44' Walther p38 and a couple FB Radom VIS 35s,, So this Luger is really welcomed to the collection.

go to pistole parabellum forum.those guys know lugers I got 3 off that site.with out really seeing the gun with just your pic and info on it.I would say start at 1500 and go to 3000.I mean after all a good mix number shooter is 800 to 1200 so you have some idea of what it's worth.other then colts older pistols no pistol holds it value and climbs in price like a good P O8.hope this helps crazywolf

    Yes you are right,
    Stoeger Luger,

You really should have a C&R. You'd save a bundle on transfer costs. I'm not real sure how Philly would handle that.......
    George,
