Default first time traveling out of state what do i need to consider

will be traveling from pittsburgh area to new jersey, travelling the turn pike, will also be stopping in philly

Anythign I need to know? I thought I read something a while back that philly has some special rules? I haven't ever been pulled over for anything but I have went thru dui checkpoints and as a courtesy I inform the officer that I'm carrying by presenting my concealed carry permit along with my drivers license, never had an issue.

Anything I should be aware of in New Jersey? What about carrying in a casino, I've been there before and they don't have metal detectors, so they wouldn't know, but if there is a law or something that doesn't allow, i want to follow the rules.

Just looking to do it the right way, any advise is helpful.

Honestly, going by the info you posted, if you are going to Jersey leave the gun home. New Jersey does not have reciprocity with any states, is almost impossible to get a NJ permit, and they will prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law if they find a gun in your car or on your person. They are truly one of the most 2nd Amendment/Constitutionally hostile states and the consequences are not worth it imo.

New Jersey? Leave your gun, ammo, gun accessories, gun magazines, everything, EVERYTHING at home. Do not even think of merely transporting unloaded into NJ, let alone carrying. If your car has NRA stickers I might even remove them. A lot of what is legal in PA is illegal to even have in your possession in NJ.

You'll do 7-10 years in a NJ state prison, easy.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

I moved from the Peoples Republic of NJ 7 months ago. Listen to the above posters. DO NOT bring anything looking like a gun into NJ. If you have a B B gun without a firearms ID card you is fucked.

It is not worth it. Think about 5 to 7 years in jail and a $75,000 lawyers fee.

As everyone else has already mentioned, don't even think about a gun while in NJ, I think they have thought police now too

I want to touch on the Philly thing, the only "special" rule they have is you need a license to carry both openly and concealed, otherwise they are bound by the same rules the rest of PA is.

Not only leave everythign at home, search your car for random gun stuff, empty shells, magazines etc...

I know my one buddy, you could probably find a couple hundred loose rounds of ammo in his car if you searched

Just to be a clear, an unloaded gun in your trunk will send you to jail in Jersey as fast as a loaded gun on your hip (with exceptions for direct range travel) - 5 to 7 years for a handgun.

If a hollowpoint bullet rolls out from under your seat during an accident or traffic stop you could get 18 months in jail even with no gun at all.

Leave everything at home and check under your seats, glove box, center console, and trunk for loose ammo.
