Lucas Invites Gun Owners to Seminar About Carrying a Concealed Weapon
    4/3/2014
EDINBORO – Rep. Greg Lucas (R-Erie/Crawford) is inviting local gun owners to attend a seminar on Thursday, April 10, at the Edinboro Council Chambers where they can learn about the rights and responsibilities that accompany a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

“It is important for gun owners to know about the privileges they enjoy as well as the obligations they need to meet with a concealed carry permit,” said Lucas, who has served as an instructor, coach and recruiter with the National Rifle Association.

There is no cost to attend the event which will last from 7-8:30 p.m.

Space is limited and residents who wish to attend are asked to RSVP by April 7 by calling Lucas’ office at 814-734-2793.

Residents must be at least 21 years old to obtain a concealed carry permit in Pennsylvania.

The seminar will provide information about the process to acquire a concealed carry permit, the regularity with which the permit needs to be renewed and the circumstances under which a permit may be revoked. Pennsylvania’s Castle Doctrine also will be discussed.

The seminar also will cover safety suggestions about what gun owners who are carrying a concealed weapon should do when they come in contact with a member of law enforcement.

“The Second Amendment right to bear arms is a cornerstone of American liberty,” Lucas said. “We want people to enjoy that liberty while also respecting the safety and legal responsibilities that accompany the ability to carry a concealed weapon.”

Lawyer Tim George with Purchase & George P.C., Pennsylvania State Police Community Services Officer Steve Oler and Erie County Sheriff John Loomis will be at the seminar.

The Edinboro Council Chambers is located at 124 Meadville St. in Edinboro.

I don't know. Contact either Edinboro council, or Rep Lucas's office, @ RSVP# above.
    Post your findings.
I work nights and won't be able to go.
