Russian Makarov .380
Picked up a .380 Russian Makarov Sunday, and I love it so much, I plan to CC it. Just something about it seems quality. I love the way it feels and operates as well.
But upon my desire to carry it, I tried to look for extra mags. Nothin. Anybody making repros now a days? Anyone have a source for these, or any originals? Anyone have some they want to sell? I've done some research, and some say 9x18 mags will work for 380, and some say they won't. Any thoughts on that?
Other than that, it's a nice piece. Done in the Satin "stainless" finish with black grips. Like it alot better than my Glock.
Ill try to get some pics of it in action next time I go out. Or just post pics of it in general. First one I've seen in this satin finish.

Similar but not that one. Mine still has the standard black grips. I'll post a pic tonight.

They are good accurate shooters, got my Mak in the mid 80s only issue I ever had is the sharp edge on the magazine when loading up cuts into my thumb.I also was able at the time to secure 3 ss mags, congrats.

no such thing as .380 makarov mags, the .380 guns use 9x18 mags

Re: Russian Makarov .380
Have you considered getting it converted over to 9x18? When I did mine it was around $30 for the barrel and then another $30 for the smithing. You can make up the cost within a few cases of ammo

Re: Russian Makarov .380
Why would you do that? The gun was made in .380. It is marked .380, and ammo is easy to get for it. Not that 9x18 is difficult to find, and it is easy to reload using cut down 9x19 brass, and Mak bullets.
I have four Maks including one just like this one in .380. While I prefer my East German and my Bulgarians, I wouldn't convert the .380 Mak as it gives ammo flexibility.
