    Default Sig P229 Holster

I am looking to purchase a new holster for my Sig P229. i would like to be able to use it functionally and easily at the range and also concealed but during times when I'll be wearing a coat or jacket. I would rather not an IWB holster. What kind of suggestions can you guys give me to go check out before making up my mind. ( make and model)

    Thanks

You can usually find some really nice used ones on ebay if you take the time to look, I found my current D Hume for less than $20

I have a Milt Sparks IWB that is pretty comfortable, although it's not my No. 1 choice for my 229. I have a Gould SOB that I use most of the time. I wasn't sure I would like SOB carry, but now it's all I use when I can. A lot of guys don't like SOB but I find it extremely comfortable. Galco also makes a nice SOB for the 229.

Galco Concealable. Great holster...takes some time to break in, but holds nice and tight, even w/o a thumbreak. The leather is very nice as well. I like the ride height as well as the cant, it's very concealable. I use it for carry and recently, for IDPA. Works well all-around. http://www.usgalco.com/HolsterPG3.as...=232&GunID=153

I carry mine in a Galco CON250H (havana brown). Great all-around holster.
    I also use mine for IDPA and carry a P220 or a P226 in a CON248H.

I love my Galco. It is very comfortable and seems to distribute the weight very well.

I just got a desantis holder for my p229, I like it a lot, it fits very nicely, http://www.desantisholster.com/001.html not a terrible price, the quality seems good, and it is rather comfortable.

Look into Bladetech (kevlar) and Kramer (leather) holsters. I own an assortment of several makers, and found their rigidity, comfort and overall quality to be my favorite.
