Re: looking for appraiser
It is a 32 caliber revolver. Was used in WWII. My grandfather was allowed to bring it back from France after storming the beaches at Normandy. I have paper work saying he was aloud to have and bring back. it has a stamped S 1908 on one side of barrel, and on the other side of barrel it has a capital L and capital B with a circle around each letter. Has the serial number and some engraving above grips.

Re: looking for appraiser
We really need a picture. I looked up pistols staring with an L but nothing came up.
Are you sure it is a 32? The French 8mm Lebel is about the same diameter. Could this be it?
Do you think it is French? If it looks never fired and only dropped once it likely is.............
As for value. WW-II capture papers increase the price a lot. Maybe 50-100%. But, by far, the biggest value is that it was you Grandfathers. Don't ever sell it.Last edited by Delkal; March 24th, 2014 at 07:07 PM.

Re: looking for appraiser
I dont want to sell it, just want to have it appraised. The government papers say it is a 32 caliber. Also states captured from enemy. The engraving on it looks like it is French. It is in rough shape, can tell it was through alot. One of the gips is falling off due to broken screw and is held on by a piece of string. I will take photos and send along with copy of paperwork. Thank you for your help.
