    Default HB 1091 (no unlicensed open carry in Phili)

    I see this has been laid on the lable. Would this make it time now to contact our house reps and advise them to vote it down?

    You already need a license to open carry in Philadelphia as it is a city of the first class. The intent of this bill was to strengthen sentences and make them mandatory.

    Only reason to "strengthen" the bill is because the DA down there refuses to follow through with charges that are filed. Charges are either plead down or Nolle Prossed. If people would actually do their jobs, this law wouldn't ever be considered.

    Pennsylvania shouldn't be subjugating Philly to a different standard of rights or privileges. All rights, privileges, and immunities to all those within a state needs to be equal. 6108 is already blatantly unconstitutional via the 14th Amendment Section 1, this bill only compounds the problem.

    I agree with you. I actually think this is a bad bill; I was only commenting on the interpretation in the thread title. I had to head out to the bank, hence my short post. You know I usually write books.

    Not that I know of. I think McKown is going after it indirectly by attacking 6106, but I doubt he'll win.(good luck to him though)
