Default Re: Mother Sues Missouri Gun Shop

Gun shop insurance company may offer out of court settlement nowhere close to the original amount mentioned in the suit. If the brady fools want to play hardball, the final outcome of this case can take years to determine. Whatever the case, the insurance company will make the decisions relative to defending the case.

When the gun companies were having frivolous law suits brought against them, the law was changed making civil suits against them more difficult. Sadly, the legislation did not protect individual gun stores. Some gun friendly states may visit this issue and define quite clearly what constitutes liability for gun store owners. If not, the anti gun organizations will bring forth civil suit against any store that sells a firearm that goes on to be used in a straw sale, or sells any firearm that goes on to be used in any crime. When litigation becomes a common occurrence, insurance carriers will not offer coverage without rates that would make such coverage out of financial reach for the vast majority of gun shops.
